About this bed and breakfast
You are booking a guest room in our home. This is not a whole house/apartment rental. We are an American husband and Chinese wife. Our home is located on Puget Sound with extraordinary views of Commencement Bay, Vashon and Maury Islands. Browns Point Lighthouse Park is just a few minutes away. Other local attractions are Dash Point State Park, Redondo waterfront community, Point Defiance Park & Zoo, and the Point Ruston waterfront community.
Note that breakfast is a 'continental breakfast', is self-serve, and you need to request it in advance. Continental breakfast means breakfast bread (something like bagels, English muffin, croissant, etc.), coffee, and juice. We also usually have fruit, and eggs if you're inclined to cook a hot breakfast.
There is a mini-kitchenette set up in the laundry room across the hall from your guestroom. It includes a mini-fridge, coffee maker (and filters, coffee, sweetener, creamer), toaster and microwave. You're also welcome to use the full kitchen upstairs.
The Queen Bedroom is located on the upper floor. Guests have exclusive access to the bathroom, which has a double sink/vanity and shower with three shower heads (one rainshower head), and body jets.
The pool is open June 1 - September 30. The spa/jacuzzi can heated on demand all year; there is a $25 charge to offset the cost of the gas needed to heat it off season (October - May). It may take up to 90 minutes to come up to temp, depending on the weather. There is a 10PM curfew for all shared spaces (spa/jacuzzi, gym and theatre room).

The hosts were accommodating and welcoming, kindly allowing me to check in early and even inviting me to dinner on my first night. Their home was spotless, with a lovely pool and hot tub, a well-equipped exercise area, and a comfortable movie room where I enjoyed watching a football game. It is truly a beautiful spot.For travelers who value privacy and independence, it’s helpful to note that the bathroom is not attached to the bedroom, and the hot tub must be turned on and off by the hosts. The TVs do not have streaming services, though the hosts were kind enough to provide me with an old phone so I could stream Netflix, which allowed me to continue a Friday night tradition of watching a show with my child.The upstairs bedroom where I stayed only had a lock on the inside, not on the outside, which means it cannot be secured when you are away, something that may be a consideration, particularly for women travelers.Overall, the stay was positive, but as someone who travels full time, I am more accustomed to having greater autonomy in the places I stay. This property is ideal for guests who appreciate a more personal, host-involved experience.

My husband and son were staying at this property because my son had a basketball tournament the weekend of the stay. They slept at the house and used the bathroom to shower and stuff. They didn’t receive breakfast (which was listed as an amenity and since I’m the Mom I thought it would be helpful to have because I was not going to be there). The space was in the basement. But like I said the space worked for the purpose of the trip. Comments from my husband and son were “it wasn’t a place to go and have somewhere to hang out, it’s a good place for having somewhere to sleep”.
