1. Great breakfast under the arches of an old stable - savoury and sweet items, including eggs. home made cakes, yoghurt, coffee made to order, fresh fruit, smallgoods.
2. The bedroom was clean and comfortable, and we had no trouble getting different pillows when the original ones didn't suit.
3. The hosts were generous and gracious, chatting with us at breakfast, helping with our bags and inviting contact if we had issues.
4. No fridge in the room but a small fridge with cold water just outside in the passage.
5. Good restaurant nearby - simple but tasty food.
6. From our bedroom window we looked out onto a peaceful green field.
1. The ensuite is a little dark (no windows).
2. The shower in our ensuite is structured in such a way that water can escape onto the ensuite floor. Not a big issue, but it did mean that once we realised what was happening we had to scamper to use our towels to mop up the water before it entered the bedroom area.
3. We decided to take the bus into Mantova rather than drive in as the bus stop was very close and we did not know what traffic would be like, but we did not realise just how infrequently the buses run. The upside to this is that we decided to walk into the city (some 5 km or so) and on our way came across a fascinating monumental cemetery that was well worth visiting.
