About this house rental
A completely new renovated (2018) old Cretan stone house, which is located in the centre of the village, near to supermarkets, cafes, tavernas and only a 10min drive to the wonderful beaches of Kato Zakros and Xerokambos. In Zakros you can still feel the spirit of a cretan traditional village. The famous Windsurfing spot in Kouremenos is just 20min by car. The place is an ideal starting point for hiking ( gorge of Richti and Kato Zakros), and excursions like the ancient Minoan palace of Zakros.
It's not really suitable for 2 couples, more for 1 couple, for families or a group of friends, because the two rooms are connected.
The space
The house was first built in 1870 and kept in our family now in the 4th generation. We completely renovated it this year (2018), to make it to a lovely, modern home with a traditional touch.
Bedroom no 1 has a large king size bed and bedroom no. 2 has a double bed and a single bed with a small balcony from where you have a great mountain view. The only thing is that the rooms are arranged one behind the other, so to get to bedroom no.1 you have to pass bedroom no. 2. For this reason the house is not so suitable for 2 couples, but perfect for 1 couple, a company of friends or family's with children. It was the way to build houses 100 years ago and it was not possible for us to change it.
The third room is a full equipped kitchen and living room. (TV, WIFI)
The modern bathroom features hydro-massage. All the rooms are fully air conditioned.
The house is perfect for couples or families with children.
Other things to note
After the booking confirmation we need one passport number with the full name of the owner for the Greek tax office.

Loved this house. Beautifully restored. The village was small. Had everything we needed. Clean, comfortable bed. Washer and as a great benefit. So close to the beach. If ever in Crete again we would stay here again. Aunty who had the keys was super sweet

It was very interesting to live in a real Cretan village and experience the evenings in the sqare with people chatting, playing cards and having a good time.
That was just what we wanted.
We loved the beach in Kato Zakros and Sitia, too.
Our trip to Xerokambos and over the mountains to the South Coast was wonderful.All the Yellow and Violet- so beautiful.
