About this house rental
Traditional Viareggio residence, built around 1850, still preserves the premises, decorations and furniture of the time. Recent restoration work has involved the external façade without changing the original layout of the house, which is divided into two floors: the land dedicated to the living room, dining room and kitchen and the first occupied by the bedrooms.
Organized, like most of the houses in the historic center, on a narrow and deep plot of land, it preserves an open-air courtyard, for exclusive use, where you can sunbathe in the warm hours and dine in the evening.
It is possible to have meals indifferently in the dining room, kitchen or in the courtyard, each equipped with its own table and chairs. The living room overlooks the inner courtyard where there is also a small toilet. Going up an ancient marble staircase with decorated ceilings, you reach the two bedrooms and the toilets.
The total area of the house, leased, amounts to approximately 110 square meters, over 25 square meters of the inner courtyard.
Located in the center of Viareggio, the most interesting places of the city can be reached on foot. Within a radius of 200 meters there are the beach with the bathing establishments, the city market and the civic museums. The urban park called "Pineta di ponente" is 500 meters away, while at 1500 meters there is the Migliarino San Rossore Massaciuccoli Regional Park with its splendid beaches, dunes and Mediterranean scrub. The train station is 1000 meters from the house.
It is ideally located for visiting northwestern Tuscany. Within a 20 km radius are the art cities of Lucca and Pisa, as well as the mountain and wild environment of the Apuan Alps. In less than an hour and a half you reach Florence, covering a hundred km of motorway or railway.
A tourist tax is payable locally, directly to the owner.

A historic town house that lived up to its owners description. Very close to the sea front where the main tourist attractions are located and within easy reach of the station for further afield excursions.

The location couldn’t be better: 1-1/2 blocks from the passeggiata, 1kM from the train station, about 5 minute walk to main bus stops and Pineta. Although very central, I felt very safe there. Apartment was larger and had more light than I expected from the photos. The host added a microwave and some storage in the main bathroom and hot water in the kitchen at my request. In Viareggio, it is really hot/humid in July August, so air conditioning is essential. The rest of the year, you’re probably fine without it. Internet good in living room and bedroom directly above it.

Den Strand in 300 Meter Nähe? Einen authentischen italienischen Urlaubsort? Dazu eine Ferienwohnung, die das gewisse Etwas hat, vor allem einen lichten Atriumhof, in dem man essen oder lesen kann? Hier findet man alles. Ja, auch lustig geschnittene (und saubere!) Badezimmer, eine sehr gut ausgestattete Küche, darüber hinaus ein leistungsfähiges WLAN mit 200Mbit/s, außerdem eine Sony-Fernseher, der einen HDMI-Port hat, sodass man mit Hilfe von Google Chromcast problemlos auch Netflix oder z.B. Tagesschau (per ARD-Mediathek) sehen kann. Vor allem aber: Sehr freundliche Gastgeber!

Wir haben die Woche in Viareggio sehr genossen: freundliche Gastgeber, tolle Unterkunft zwischen Strand und Markt, Bars und Restaurants umziehen Ecke… Alternativ zur italienischen Strandkultur gibt es unweit den schönen Naturstrand, und natürlich lohnt ein Abstecher nach Lucca und Pisa ;-). Alles in allem absolut empfehlenswert!
