Located inside the famed Beachwalk Resort in Michigan City, IN, The Lady May (formerly known as The Roses) is a three-story retreat made for memory-making. Big on space, long on comfort, and perfectly suited for multi-family vacations, reunions, or friend getaways, this home invites you to settle in, slow down, and stay awhile. With new ownership and planned winter 2026 renovations, The Lady May will be refreshed and ready to shine just in time for Spring 2026.
Inside the main home, you’ll find plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax. Multiple living spaces mean no fighting over the TV, while the fully equipped kitchen and generous dining area make meals together easy and fun. A wraparound screened-in porch is ideal for morning coffee or evening conversations, and the finished lower level adds even more hang-out space with a second living room, bar area, and games for all ages.
Need a little extra privacy? The separate guest house is a retreat all its own, complete with a kitchen, living room, full bathroom, and screened-in porch, perfect for quiet mornings, afternoon naps, or sunset sips.
Step outside and you’re in the heart of Beachwalk. Sip a cool drink while the kids play in Central Park just steps away, or explore the resort’s amenities at your leisure. Beachwalk Resort offers a seasonal heated pool and toddler pool, tennis, basketball, volleyball and bocce courts, shuffleboard, a putting green, the Sandcastle playground, and access to private Lake Kai for fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and swimming. A seasonal golf cart is also included to make getting around a breeze.
Just over an hour from Chicago and a short walk to Lake Michigan’s Sheridan Beach, you’ll also be close to Indiana Dunes National Park, Washington Park and Zoo, Blue Chip Casino, Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets, local breweries and wineries, and the International Friendship Gardens—plenty to explore, whether you’re craving adventure or a leisurely day out.
Seasonal resort amenities are available mid-May through September. During this time, parking passes ($5 each) and wristbands ($15 each) are required for all guests ages 4 and up. The Lady May rents with a 7-night minimum during peak season (mid-June to mid-August), with Friday check-in and check-out.

My husband and I took our kids/grandkids for the weekend, the guest services/check-in were the stars from start to finish. Always patient, friendly and helpful. The kids and their kids stayed in the main house, my husband and I stayed in the "guest" house, loved how convenient that was, allowed PaPa to handle his fantasy football draft with some much needed quiet. Would definitely visit this property again, kids loved the screened in porch, one said "I want to stay here forever" Plenty of room for people to have their own space yet areas where you could spend quality family time when you wanted to huddle as a family. Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

Our parents requested a vacation in Mi for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. While we didn’t end up in Michigan, Michigan City Indiana, was a beautiful alternative. We stayed at the colorful & vibrant Beachwalk Resort, which offered plenty of activities & charm. The home had a fantastic screened-in wraparound porch & fire pit. Our group of 15 fit comfortably, with a sibling group splitting the 3rd fl, 4 couples occupying 2nd fl, parents enjoying a main fl bedroom w/an attached bath & another couple occupying the guest house. Guest house was fully equipped w/its own amenities, though it has stairs. We contacted the resort after we left regarding an item left & they contacted the next day letting us know it was found.The location was convenient—just a 5 min drive to Washington Beach w/paid parking, easy access & another beach entrance was within walking distance, though a bit more of a trek. We also visited Indiana Dunes National Park, 20 mins away, 40 mins to vistor center. Essentials were nearby including Al’s Supermarket & firewood sold a block away. That said, there were a few downsides: kitchen was disorganized, some broken cookware, & only 1 of 4 grills worked (barely). Guest house lacked cookware but the main house had enough to share. The resort lake is best for kayaking, paddleboarding, ect not swimming but Lake Michigan’s beach is close!Overall this spacious home is great for lg groups, Wed stay again & w/some care & organization to the kitchen it would be better.

The garage door would not open. The gas grills were a mess and broken. The plumbing leaked under the sink. The stove knob was broken. The microwave has a broken piece. The was a lack of towels and sheets. The Beachwalk workers did a good job of fixing the majority of issues, but the owners need to provide a better quality experience.
