Built in 1884 and thoughtfully remodeled in 2016, this historical Fort Bragg home perfectly blends the comforts of modern life with the Victorian charm of the old Northern California Coast. This beautiful landmark home sits mere steps from the beach at MacKerricher State Park, offering four lovely bedrooms (including two main bedroom suites), and an additional bedroom located in the detached studio with standalone shower, an expansive deck with a private gas grill, Smart TVs in each room, and a renovated kitchen with custom cabinetry reclaimed from the redwood that adorned the original house.

This home is located on the iconic California Highway 1, directly adjacent to MacKerricher State Park and a three-minute walk from the ocean beach. The heart of downtown Fort Bragg is a three-mile drive south, allowing you to easily reach an assortment of wonderful restaurants, the North Coast Brewing Taproom, the Skunk Train, and the colorful shores of Glass Beach. Book a horseback ride on the beach with Ricochet Ridge Ranch right across the street, and end the afternoon with a margarita at The Purple Rose just down the road.

Our two young granddaughters absolutely loved the mermaid themed home. We really enjoyed the large comfy couch in the living room. Also enjoyed our nightly visit to the fire pit for s’mores in the private and lovely back yard. Kitchen was well equipped and appreciated the designated bar area and wine fridge area. We were lucky to have nice weather to eat dinners on the lovely porch that included a nice bbq unit, and a kids picnic table. The bathroom remodels are impressive. Kitchen area seating was also ample in terms of seating a larger group. Appreciated having a washer and dryer available. And of course the clean and private hot tub was used each night. The wireless internet service was great. This was the perfect home to host our adult children and grandchildren.
We have a fabulous trip. Thank you for giving us this opportunity. Very much appreciate the hard work to renovate this historic home and make it available for us to enjoy.

We had a fun week here. Location was perfect for us. Easy to walk down to the beach and the bike path along the coast was right there. Little market next door was convenient to grab drinking water.
A bit noisy early in the morning as it’s right along Highway One but otherwise quiet.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly home with easy access to McKerricher State Park or the beach, this home is amazing. The fully renovated interior is beautiful - every room is tastefully decorated with adorable nautical elements and completely modernized.
A few things to keep in mind: it is an older home located right off of Highway 1, so the rooms that are located at the front of the house will be subject to traffic noise. Ear plugs and white noise made a huge difference to our enjoyment of those rooms.
We also found that water from the tap had a metallic taste & odor. There is a water filter in the refrigerator for drinking water so that’s not an issue but it was initially disconcerting when showering.
Overall we LOVED this home, it’s location, layout and decor. We would totally stay here again!
