At Thara Aonang

clean room! had a pool, even though it was mucky, we still jumped in a few times. the food was really good! the staff was nice!!

far from any beach. $200+ taxi each way or a 45+ min walk. shower was cold and the shower head barely sprayed. we booked our “transfer” from Ao Nang to Ko Paghnan at the desk and asked for 8am. driver came 930… and then dropped us off and a bus station?? where we had to sit for 45 min…. got on the (city bus?) and spent 5+ hours on it…… for a simple 2.5 hour drive. then had to sit at the pier for 3 hours because we didn’t make the 2pm…. wasted our whole day and it’s one of our last days in Thailand. left 930 am, going to get to our next stay 930 PM. do yourself a favour and do NOT book her “transfers”. we thought we booked a normal transfer and was pick up drop off - simple. was FAR from that.

The owner of this place is really carrying, she made me some light soup when I was feeling sick and she also cooks great, we ordered green curry and it was delicious! The AC was working very well.

The room gets extremely hot when the AC is not working and there are like 1,5cm gaps between the door and the frame. It would be nice, if there would be a closet instead of a sofa and some random tables, because we didn't have anything to put our clothes in.

It was amazing time at this hotel, specially because of kind and caring hosts who made our staying comfortable and cozy. They have all services included and available as massage, also home cooked meals by hosts (highly recommended!) and tours if needed. Hosts will take care of transfer and will recommend and drive to non touristy hidden gems of Ao Nang.

Overall, we liked our stay but tap water pressure in the shower can be better.

Staff was very friendly. Room was relatively clean and good size.

As several other reviewers have stated, I’m not quite sure about the glowing reviews here. I believe this is a good fit for a single traveler or people that need their hands held by the owner? These little bungalows are close together and built in what feels like, someone’s yard. You can hear everything in other units and the door has gaps all the way around, which doesn’t help. The bathroom windows are also constructed with an open gap to the outside, so you can hear people using their facilities. The very large, grossly dirty dog is still chained in the dining/meeting room, so we did not partake in food options.The pool was cloudy/murky, so we didn’t use. A couple of local food stands and 7 eleven are .4 mile walk. Nothing else around. We checked out early.
