The home has an old world charm with its wrought iron gate, stone walls, gardens and patios you might just feel like you are in the south of France or Italy! Yet this is a modern and well appointed elegant home/ mini estate, it is all yours to enjoy relax and restore. Stroll to town and enjoy all that lively Fairfax offers with it’s many cafes, restaurants, music venues, farmers market, Good Earth or hike the many trails of Mt. Tam and Deer Park right from your door or spend the day at one of it’s many lakes, or near by beaches, this is the good life! Sleep peacefully while listening to the crickets in the large bedroom with its pillow top king size bed, Restoration Hardware furniture and walk-in closet. Soak in the oversize tub in the beautiful garden windowed bathroom. Cooks will love the chef’s kitchen. Winters are gentle here in Marin, rains turn the hills green while most of the country is covered in snow. Guest are warmed by the huge wood burning fireplace, the beauty of Mt Tam is now filled with waterfalls. The magic continues! Rachele's home is such a special, precious place. The photos do not truly express how tranquil and beautiful the home is. The views are stunning- it is literally a glass tree house. The furnishings are lovely and very solid- the sofas, the floors, the bathtub, the bed, the kitchen counters- creating not only comfort and nurturing but a true sense of groundedness. There is endless access to hikes and the little town of Fairfax is adorable. Finally, Rachele is a perfect host- accessible, helpful and kind. I hope to be able to stay at this magical sanctuary again some day.

Beautiful house, inside and out. Amazing attention to detail.
I stayed a month and did not lack a thing.
Able to easily explore Marin County, SF and much of Nor Cal from this base in Fairfax.
My only caveat is for anyone having trouble with stairs. Not in the house but outside.
Otherwise perfect.

This lovely home is perfect for a couple looking for a longer stay, who appreciates the more graceful things in life: a beautiful setting, the refreshing ambiance of nature, a picturesque view, and the old-world lodge-style home. There are stairs to maneuver to the entrance and the lovely patio/garden area, but the neighborhood is quiet, the people friendly, and everyone is out strolling or walking their dogs.
Rachele, the owner, could not be more gracious and helpful. The pride in her home is obvious, the amenities she offered were so thoughtful, and her artistic background is evident in all the touches within the home and throughout the property. It was a delight staying here!
