The house was great. It was very clean on arrival, in a beautiful location, and the layout worked really well for a larger family group. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out comfortably without feeling cramped. The hot tub was a real highlight — much bigger than expected and a lovely feature to have during the stay. The beds were also very comfortable, which made a big difference after long days out exploring the area. The kitchen was very well equipped in terms of cooking equipment, cutlery, bowls, glasses, utensils, and everything needed to properly cook and eat as a group, which we appreciated. Having both a washer and dryer was also really useful and made the stay much more practical for a family trip. Check-in was simple and straightforward, the price felt reasonable for what was offered, and the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. The nearby pub and shop were both as good as previous reviews had suggested, and we had a fantastic Sunday roast at The Crown which was one of the highlights of the weekend.
We knew going in that the property probably wouldn’t include lots of extras like shampoo or laundry detergent, which was absolutely fine. But we were a little surprised that some of the more basic essentials weren’t provided — things like dish soap, bin bags, salt and pepper, and more than a couple of toilet rolls would have made the stay feel a bit more welcoming and convenient. We were also slightly disappointed that there was no flexibility at all with a later checkout. The cleaner next door mentioned there were no new guests arriving for a couple of days, so the strict checkout time felt a little unnecessary and less accommodating than we’d hoped. I completely understand that the hosts may have had issues in the past that have led them to keep things more structured and rigid, and that’s of course their choice. However, that stricter approach did come through in the overall experience and made the stay feel a little less relaxed and hospitable than it could have been.

We stayed in Orchard Lea, the four-bedroom house. It was the perfect size property for us, as a family-and-partners group of seven people. The location was brilliant, just next to the excellent village shop, pub and bus stop. The house was comfortable and the hot tub was a great bonus!
Only minor things - for example, the kitchen chairs made a loud noise against the floor, and the heating system wasn't very clearly labelled. But none of these caused a serious problem.

Second time at the property, and a great location for what we wanted. Lovely cottage with all the facilities we needed, with the added bonus of The Crown now being open next door (41 steps to the entrance) after a full refurb...... As Arnie would say 'I'll be back'....👍👍👍
