Beautiful location

Our bed was very uncomfortable

Great location. The food at dinner and breakfast was excellent. The gardens were great for relaxing in and listening to birdsong.

The room was spacious and amazing and the breakfast might have been the best included breakfast we've had at any lodging! Our travel plans only included one night here, but we wish it could have been more. We had dinner here too, and loved it.

The shower setup wasn't great in our room, though I know it was fairly standard in Europe. It was impossible to not spray water all over the bathroom, unless you took your shower kneeling. This wouldn't stop us from staying again.

Great location for the hot springs. The heated pool was very nice. The room was modern and spacious with a comfortable bed.

But the devil is in the details… we have had wonderful stays in eight other Booking.com properties on this trip over three weeks and found them all to be wonderful with great attention to detail and caring hosts and left glowing reviews. So it was the lack of attention to detail here that made our stay here frustrating. The broken bug-screen on the main door. The still-full ashtray outside on our patio. The cracked plastic chair. Only two coat hangers…. and one of those was broken! We had only two pillows with pillowcases and one was ripped. The spare pillows in the cupboard had no covers. The electric kettle and the hair dryer both belonging to the hotel had upgraded plugs and would not fit the sockets and should have had an adapter. The manager was not aware of this problem until I pointed it out to him and he then looked for an adapter but could only find one. How is it possible that none of the staff had never noticed this issue before?Even if we had been able to plug the kettle in, the staff had left only one sugar and two teabags ? No milk. No coffee. Again, poor attention to detail. At every other accommodation we stayed at in Italy, we had breakfast outdoors to enjoy the warm mornings. Here, everyone had to sit in a large glass-walled lounge with large sliding doors….which were all closed!? One American woman asked if they could have breakfast outside and was told “No…. only with a cup of coffee “ So we all had to sit inside on a beautiful morning and peer out at the empty tables and chairs on the patio !? At breakfast, all the guests had to drink their juices out of plastic cups…. No glasses. Apart from this looking very cheap, it was not a good look environmentally either. All this from a high end hotel. We had so many great experiences with all our other hotels and stays on this trip that all the small but still noticeable problems here, made for a very disappointing stay.
