The setting was very tranquil and relaxing. The breakfast was good, with the scrambled eggs done in small batches for optimal freshness. The room and bathroom were modern and comfortable. Good water pressure and lots of hot water for the shower. There is a pasta making class onsite and it was very fun. The staff was very friendly and helpful. That made for a very pleasant stay.
Our room had non-existent wifi and there were not enough power outlets by the bed to plug our phones in. To do that, we had to unplug the lamps. When the staff heard about the poor wifi in our room, they offered us a slight discount for the inconvenience which was nice of them.

I wish I could make this more succinct, but this place is too amazing to not write the longest review I’ve ever written.
This is an idyllic, warm, cozy, relaxing, and homey stay. It is luxurious without having an outrageous price and feels authentic to Puglia. They pay attention to small details that make all the difference. The moment I stepped foot on this property I felt relaxed. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and had privacy, and yet felt a bit of community because of the intimacy of the property. You tend to see the same faces at breakfast/dinner and the same few staff members who are all wonderful. Matilda in particular was amazing. She’s so sweet, always helpful, and more talented than me (speaks at least three languages: french, Italian, English). The food was tasty, varied, and honors Puglia’s traditions. Local wine and oil are served at the table. Even the hand soap in the room was memorable, it smelled SO good (I wish they sold it!). I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s my favorite stay I’ve had in Italy (10+ hotels, urban and rural), maybe even the world? I felt genuinely sad to say goodbye. I will be prioritizing it on all my trips to Italy, as well as recommending it to all my friends and family.
Pro Tips
- Use WhatsApp to make dinner reservations (very flexible!)
- Include Saturday in your stay so you can do the orecchiette pasta class at 4 pm. Book class before you arrive
- Walk to reception and ask for aperitivo any time of day (menu in room)
- Sit under the large oak tree with a good book (wine/apertivo/coffee) and enjoy
- Breakfast included, lunch and dinner available on property. Very convenient when you are tired after a full day of exploring
- Wine and olive oil served is local. Go to the wine/oil companies websites to schedule tours/tastings
- They offer 350 ml wine bottles of a few wines if you don’t want to commit to a large bottle
Food standouts
- scrambled eggs (what do you all do to make them so good?!

Breakfast on the first day was excellent; after that the cakes got stale.
I liked dining with the huge fire blazing.
colour scheme of the room
Only one small window in the bathroom; lack of fresh air in the room;
bathroom door jammed; very difficult to open and close;
chairs were to low; difficult to sit down and get up if you are a bit older;
slippery floor in shower stall - very dangerous;
limited menu in restaurant;
only a short distance from Martina Franca, but along a very narrow country lane.
Overpriced in off season
