This accommodation was booked by my parents for their trip. This review is compiled by my father:
There was no parking available, I had to arrange with the landlord of the local pub to park there for the duration of the stay. This meant me having to drop my wife (who had recently had a hip replacement) off at the cottage and leave her there, whilst I went to park the car and walk back on my own. I had to go and collect the car then come back and pick my wife up when going out, so it was not ideal for parking.
When getting settled on the first night, we decided to put the TV on. However, there was only 1 channel on it, so it may as well not be there at all.
It would have been helpful to know prior to booking that there are no handrails on the stairs. The stairs are open on one side with no handrail on the other. For those with any mobility issues, as my wife was experiencing, elderly people or young children, this presents a serious health and safety risk. I had to assist my wife up and down the stairs each morning and night, she didn't feel safe, as many wouldn't . Had I known this beforehand I would not have booked to stay here.
On a final note, there was no flexibility around the check in and check out times. We found this unhelpful as check in was later than a standard check in at 4pm and check out was very early at 9am. We chose to leave the night before as it would have been too much of a rush for us to be packed up, cleaned and tidied round (as we always do) and out for 9am.
