Up on the hill! with the advantage of watching sunrise, olive groves and stunning views across the valley to the sea.
The villa itself combines traditional Cretan style with a modern touch that guarantees comfort and simplicity.
Enjoy the magical views, variety of seasonal fruit trees and aromatic scent of Jasmine flowers from everywhere even when you are in the sitting area or relaxing on hammocks on the roof terrace.
From the villa you can get anywhere in Crete with an easy access” Heraklion airport is 50 minutes away. Chania airport 40 minutes”.
You can walk to Agreco Farm to enjoy fantastic views and Greek traditional meals.
While a car is a necessity, it will give you a rare experience of discovering the beauty of driving across city, valley, mountains up to the hill and the chance to visit old villages and their lovely, warm shops & taverns, as well as touristic sights and wonderful beaches around Rethymnon.
The villa has one double and one twin bedrooms, equipped with all necessary items, appliances and fully air-conditioned.

The villa was spacious and well appointed. Two bedrooms, 1 Double and 1 Twin. The bathroom was well equipped with shower, toilet, bidet, sink etc. The Lounge/Kitchen/Diner was again spacious and well furnished. The hob and cooker were easy to use and there is a also a microwave and toaster. There is a large fridge with a freezer cupboard above, large enough for sufficient food for almost a week for a family of 4.The pool isn't heated which towards the end of the season isn't ideal as it takes some time to get used to, but during the full summer months wouldn't be an issue.Ibrahim, Karima and son Omar are very friendly and couldn't do enough for us during our stay of 19 days. We arrived to find a welcome pack of milk, bread, fruit and other items which made the first day very easy as we didn't have to buy anything.Travel to the local villages is easy and further into Rethymnon is about 15-20 mins. Plenty of Restaurants', bars and shops. There is also a Lidl store nearby although during the week this closes promptly at 9:00pm. There are other mini-market shops locally for supplies after this time.For information, if you have any mobility issues this may not be the property for you, due to some steep slopes, and having a car with a bigger engine (1.3L and above) is recommended as smaller engined cars may struggle. Other than these minor points we cannot recommend Sunset Villa highly enough and are planning our return there already.

The villa is beautiful and spacious enough for the whole family. The pool and the seating area up on the roof with spectacular views of the mountains and sea were well used! The owner Ibrahim and his family couldn’t have been more helpful and kind, and gave us some of their gorgeous grapes from their vines too. This is a great location, in a very quiet area with an amazing taverna within walking distance but far enough away from the busyness of Rethymno to make you feel very relaxed. Would recommend.

We are a couple who stayed from 1st to 15th Sept 18. We had an amazing time and wouldnt hesitate to recommend the villa to others. The views are fabulous and the design and layout of villa ensure you can appreciate them fully. A perfect get- away- from- it- all. The listing information given is accurate-a car ( and a willingness to drive it!) is essential. This can be arranged through the owner and our experience was very good-Irini, you are a legend! Our flight out was delayed and she was still waiting for us. We arrived at night. The owner gives an option of having the car hire team drive you to the villa which in retrospect I would advise you take. We found it eventually, so it can be done but the air was blue! Thats the price you pay for peace and great views. The listing accurately describes the attributes and amenities of the villa and we found it clean on arrival. The communication with Ibrahim, the owner, was first class from the moment of the initial enquiry and I would give him ten out of ten, a pleasure to deal with; he cares very much that his guests have a good experience and we certainly did.Provided one of your party is happy to drive, you are perfectly situated at the villa to see some of Cretes most beautiful sights, many of which can be accessed in less than an hour. Equally, you are never that far from more touristy spots or Rethymnon itself which personally I never get tired of. On the whole, a very happy holiday and although received wisdom says you should never go back, I would have no qualms returning to Sunset Villa.
