The staff were lovely. The room was clean and comfortable, the location was spot on and it was really good value for money.
It was so so busy, there was a queue at the bar to get drinks, it was really noisy in the bar. The second night we had to ask where our food was after a 45 minute wait. When the fish and chips arrived they were really overcooked and dry, we really should have sent them back but we were so hungry we ate them, but they weren't great. On a plus note the food the previous night was lovely and breakfast was fine too.

Location and great bar and food.
Infernal roadworks right outside - very noisy all day and all night. I intended to stay an extra night, but I had to escape !

This is a friendly comfortable place to stay in the heart of Pooley Bridge near the lovely walks around the Lake district. The staff and helpful and welcoming. The food is tasty and the room is comfortable
This is a great pub to stay in - it doesn’t pretend to be a five star luxury hotel. But we would stay again any time.

Lovely location, polite staff, good beer , very clean and comfortable bed
The room was dated and could have done with a spruce up, unfortunately the shower drain hole was very slow or partially blocked, by the time I could get a decent water temperature the shower tray had filled with water, I didn’t want to flood the place, very disappointing after a long days hiking, I would have reported the shower when we checked out but no one was around
