Ok, the hotel fit our travel plans perfectly with its location although it is poorly signposted and easy to miss the car park entrance. The rooms themselves are top quality, well appointed and comfortable. We were told that breakfast would be provided despite no kitchen so we entered for breakfast with low expectations, breakfast was excellent.
After booking I received a notification that there were no dining facilities at the hotel, if I’d known this prior to booking I would have booked elsewhere. The hotel itself isn’t situated within walking distance of any eateries. On arrival, we were informed that there were no room keys, to go to your room meant asking the single member of staff at reception to go with you and let you in, not really conducive to dropping bags in rooms and then meeting for a drink as every time you leave your room you need to return to reception and ask to be allowed back in… there was no working bar, the staff member offered us a bottle of beer, we then had to provide a bottle opener for ourselves and another guest as they had no way of opening bottles. There was no soap in the toilets at reception, when we informed the girl at reception her reply was that it hadn’t been fitted yet, there was no attempt to provide soap.
