As we were leaving, the owner took us aside and unexpectedly informed us that we'd be charged an additional fee for "long showers"—a cost we were never warned about during our stay. She then made an uncomfortable comment, referring to my girlfriend (who was right there) in the third person, implying the long showers were due to her washing her hair. This felt intrusive and unnecessary. To make matters worse, the owner asked if my girlfriend (who is Chinese) was from Bangkok, which came across as awkward and weird, as it was completely irrelevant to the conversation. Throughout our stay, the owner also made little effort to engage with my girlfriend directly, consistently addressing only me, which we found odd. It was a very disappointing end to our stay and we wish the owner could’ve raised the issue earlier during our stay, rather than acting fine and then springing it on us as we were leaving.
