About this house rental
Come put your feet up while you enjoy stunning views of Deer Lake in this newly furnished custom-built waterfront home that features three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Sleeping arrangements:
Master suite is upstairs and features a king sized bed, custom rock shower, double sinks, granite and a large walk in closet. The other two upstairs bedrooms feature generous bunk bed configurations, with double beds on the bottom and twins on the top. Downstairs in the great room, there’s a queen fold out sofa bed and two click-clacks (basically just a fancy name for futon). VRBO considers this area a 4th bedroom, but we we want you to know that there’s no privacy to the open den area on the main floor. Please note this is truly a 3 bedroom. The cabin is most comfortable for 8 guests.
Linens:
Your beds will bed freshly made just prior to your arrival, including two pillows for each guest. Freshly laundered bath towels, hand towels, face towels and kitchen towels will also be provided.
Kitchen:
The fully-stocked gourmet kitchen features natural finish cabinetry and granite counters. Included are pots, pans, toaster, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, blender and instant-pot, cooking utensils and some seasonings. We will leave you a dozen of our favorite K-cups, but feel free to bring your own stash of coffee and seasonings as well!
Dining:
There are two indoor dining spaces. One is the large dining table that can be extended to fit 8 people. and the other is the kitchen counter with barstools.
Family room:
Large sectional sofa, 2 click clacks, coffee table and flat panel smart TV that overlooks the lake. There’s also a natural wood burning fireplace. If you want to use it, you should bring firewood with you, which you can usually pick up in Deer Park on the way to the cabin.
BBQ:
The BBQ is a Traeger Pellet Grill which has 6-in-1 ability to grill, smoke, bake, roast, braise, and bbq. We’ll leave you a fully stocked hopper as well as an extra container of pellets, just in case you like to BBQ as often as we do and in case you’re not familiar with these awesome grills
The Deck:
Enjoy your morning coffee and relax on the deck while enjoying panoramic views of Deer Lake. There’s a propane fire table (fire pit) on the deck and we’ll make sure that you have a full tank of propane waiting for you.
The Dock:
The private oversized wood dock is a great place to spend the day relaxing, jumping and swimming. The dock is configured with two separate boat slips and we will always make sure that there’s a slip available for you. There's also two gazebos, one with an additional fire pit and seating underneath it.
Watercraft:
If you want to bring motorized watercraft, message us prior to booking so we can talk about the size of your boat, number of skis, moorage, and trailer parking. Guests are expected to adhere to boating safety laws and lake etiquette, including observing the no-wake zone. Extra fees will apply. If you’re bringing watercraft, message us BEFORE YOU BOOK for approval.
Dogs:
If you want to bring your dog(s) with you, message us prior to booking with the size of your dog(s) and their level of training. Guest are expected to keep their dog(s) on a leash when outside the property lines and to pick up after them. No more than 2 dogs are permitted and extra fees will apply. If you’re bringing pets, message us BEFORE YOU BOOK for approval.
Parking:
Parking is tight at Deer Lake and this property is no exception. Two spaces are included. JUST TWO. There’s no overflow parking, no remote partaking lot, no asking the neighbors for favors. If you arrive with extra vehicles, you’ll be “up a creek”, as they say. The garage is not for guests, ONLY the two spots in front of the cabin are reserved for guests.
Smoking:
This is a NON-SMOKING rental, this includes both inside and outside
Quiet Time:
Outside quiet time starts @ 10 pm. If you want to enjoy the dock late at night, just be considerate of our neighbors.
Extra visitors:
Entertaining people outside of your reserved guest count is not permitted.

We enjoyed our stay here! It was perfect for a little weekend getaway with kids. We fished off the dock and went to check out the resort across the lake for an afternoon. The owners were super responsive and we felt like we had everything we needed. We had a great time!

We just got back from a wonderful week on Deer Lake. The weather was beautiful and the house was exactly as advertised. We ate in for every meal, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The gas "fireplace" on the covered porch was the perfect place for toasting smores and watching the sunset over the lake. We took a few hikes into the woods around the lake, but spent most of our days floating in the water and soaking up the sunshine!This house had everything we needed, but honestly the best part was the hosts. Billie and Kevin were very responsive and really took it upon themselves to make sure that we had a great time. We forgot a pump to blow up our floaties, and they brought us one to borrow. We mentioned that my son would like to try fishing, and the brought him a pole and bait! We noticed a minor issue with our hot tub, and they were there within hours to correct it. The list goes on and on. They were simply fabulous!A couple of things to note about this property: The nearest town is Loon Lake, which is 10 or 15 minutes away. They have a gas station, a couple of coffee shacks, a restaurant or two, and a grocery/hardware store combo we referred to as the "Food and Stuff". The hardware side has a little bit of everything, from fishing gear to automotive and plumbing supplies. The grocery side is really more of a large convenience store. No fresh food to be found. If you want a real grocery store, the nearest one is Yoke's Market, in Deer Park, which is about 25 minutes away. Just something to keep in mind when you're deciding how much food to bring.The other thing to note is that if you're a Google Maps user (like I am) the directions are wrong and will try to take you to a road way up the hill behind the house. (I heard Apple Maps is better but can't confirm.) It's actually super easy to get there though. Just take US-395 north to the town of Loon Lake, then right onto Gardenspot Road for 3-4 miles, then left onto East Deer Lake Road. After about 3 miles the pavement ends and the road becomes hard packed dirt/gravel. Just continue on this same road for another mile or so (don't take any of the turnoffs) and you will end up at the house. Be aware that the last quarter mile or so the speed limit drops to 5 mph. There will be signs and speed bumps, so you'll know.
