If you want something charming away from the hustle and bustle, Hesperia Hotel is a good choice. It was quiet, comfortable, clean. The room felt quite homey with a mini-kitchen, dining area, balcony with dining and clothes-drying capabilities. It felt like an authentic, local atmosphere, good for relaxing, walking across the street to swim at any time (including refreshing, stunning sunset swims). It was less than 5 minutes to reach a market and a beautiful 10-15min stroll along the beach to an adorable seaside village with restaurants and shops nearby. The staff was helpful and friendly.
Note: This location in Karlovasi is an hour from the main areas of Samos Town (Vathy) & Pythagoreio ports & the airport. A rental car is really your best bet for transport, plus you will want it to explore all this gorgeous island has to offer. A cab can cost 50-65 Euro. There is free parking next to the hotel. I wish I could have stayed longer.
