Well located accommodation in Cleggan, with attached bar and restaurant, views across to Inisbofin and free car parking behind the accommodation. Bar and restaurant served good quality food and drinks at reasonable prices (which was nice given the lack of many other viable options in the local area. when we visited).
Room was a little on the small side - it was fine for our single night stay and that we were able to leave larger bags in the boot of the car. For longer stays with all luggage for a longer trip, it may be a bit of a squeeze. The location is in a small village and at the time of our visit (end September, so at the very end of the season), food and drink options were quite limited, which may be an issue for longer stays if you are travelling between October and April/May.

The pub is really attractive, with a cozy fire, water views and good layout. Our room upstairs was small, but nice, with seaview. Our meals were excellent.
We selected this accommodation with the idea of staying in a non-tourist small town on the coast, with the hope of experiencing some friendly interaction with locals, like Ireland is known for. We thought we had hit the jackpot in terms of what we were after, and settled in for the evening, having a number of drinks and dinner. The crowd all appeared to be locals and were disinterested in engaging with us. The staff were completely indifferent to us, which was odd, considering they are in the hospitality business. (We spoke to the lady owner, two young female bar staff and one male bar staff throughout the night.) There was live music, which didn't sound that great (but that's ok) which was followed by a DJ playing music till 1am for a 70th birthday celebration. We had disco strobe-lights from the dancefloor bouncing through our bedroom window the whole time (via skylights in the dance area) and it sounded like the music was in our room. We didn't complain at all. When we checked-out the next morning and handed our keys back, the lady didn't even look up at us or say goodbye, or sorry for the noise last night ... no eye contact and no words spoken but took the keys from our hand. Very odd and disappointing. I wish we had stayed in Cliffden instead.

Lovely location/scenery
The place is falling apart very run down. The guy serving the drinks at the bar with the long hair very rude! The women in the kitchen in the morning were lovely gave us great directions to beaches!
