It’s a remarkable hotel, we stayed at a double bedroom room — top of the building, great views.
Exceptional location, remarkable views over the bay from the restaurant where breakfast is served.
I would definitely recommend for families with older kids. There are no lifts in the building so may be problematic to carry heavy/bulky items to the top floor.
It was four of us, but the room was prepared for 2 — towels, Nespresso pods, etc. Could not reach the stuff over phone, had to bring the towels back myself from the pub after dinner.
We have also got a PCN because we were not provided us with a visitor pass for the parking in front of the hotel which apparently is required.
It’s a shame as I explicitly asked if anything is needed to leave our car there and was advised that it’s fine. I now have to deal with the council for an appeal and the hotel staff showed no sympathy nor offered any help in this matter. Apparently we’re the only ones who got into this situation over the last 3 years.
Bear this in mind, there is another smaller private car park which can be used by the guests that also wasn’t offered to us, the public car park is also fine you just need a visitor pass from the hotel.

Stayed in a cosy double in the captains quarters
Very clean and comfortable room with tea and coffee and biscuits.
Breakfast was amazing with everything you could think of.
Staff were extremely friendly.
