Lovely old building. Very good dinner in attractive veranda dining room. Good location for exploring Langres.
My request for parking didn't show up on their computer, and I had to show them their email reply to me before they agreed to let me park in the garage. This was very tight and awkward to get into. The receptionist was helpful and patient while I manoeuvred the car in, but I never saw him smile. This felt a bit unwelcoming.
The room was lovely, but there seemed to be an elephant in the room above - heavy footsteps and creaky floor boards. Luckily they only got up once during the night.

The room
The street parking was exceptionally difficult and as we were not told we had to book hotel parking we spent ages trawling through narrow streets with restrictions everywhere, full public car parks, round and round we went, searching for a parking spot. This was a nightmare after a long journey.
Then, after booking specifically because the hotel AND RESTAURANT, was dog friendly, at 19:45 when reporting for our evening meal reservation, we were told we had to leave our dog in the room on his own because “they had 7 dogs booked for the restaurant “. Outrageous. Too late for us to go anywhere else in a strange town. We were not happy and nor was my lovely, quiet, well behaved spaniel who had already had a long journey and was then shut in a strange room on his own. We could hear other people’s dogs barking from their rooms. A ridiculous decision.
After all of this the food was expensive and self conscious- a chef trying to make it interesting but really just putting random things on a plate. Except for the dessert which was delicious.
We will not return. Ever.
A furious disappointed dog owner.
