    I’m giving this hotel 1 star mainly because of the poor customer service during check-in. The staff at the reception was very unfriendly and unhelpful. We only found out the next day — through a friend staying at another hotel — that guests are supposed to automatically receive a complimentary QR code/card for free transportation around the Berchtesgaden area. Nobody informed us about this during check-in, which was disappointing because we missed the chance to use it on our first day. The room itself also needs improvement. The carpet looked very old and dirty, although the bed seemed clean. The refrigerator was not plugged in, and the outlet was placed in such an inconvenient deep corner that it was difficult to connect it ourselves. It felt like guests were expected to figure it out on their own. One of the lamps also had a broken/pundido bulb, so not all lights in the room were working properly. Another disappointing part was the terrace situation. We booked through Agoda because the description stated that all rooms include terrace access and views. However, our terrace was directly facing another building’s windows, doors, and terrace, with a large tree blocking everything. There was basically no usable view at all. The listing should be clearer and more transparent about this. I also politely asked if we could change rooms and even offered to pay extra. The receptionist immediately replied that our booked room “doesn’t include a view” and said it would be unfair to guests who paid more. After I explained we were willing to upgrade, we were then told there were no available rooms because it was a busy holiday weekend. The way this was communicated felt rude and dismissive. Overall, the hotel itself may be acceptable for a short stay, but the customer service experience — especially at check-in — was extremely disappointing. BUT 5 stars for the breakfast buffet and the staff at the restaurant and kitchen.

    Excellent view (take the Mountain view room), good breakfast. The whole hotel building is from a different era and so the rustic old feel does come out well. Our room heating was not working so they gave us a heater as a stopgap measure. Good breakfast though since we were there for four days, it became monotonous eventually.

    I just can’t find even one fault with this hotel. Fantastic value for money, room was Bavarian style which I loved, great size for a single, bed extremely comfortable, brilliant powerful shower. Not a sound at night so had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was plentiful and had everything you would want. Front desk staff very nice. Honest can’t find one fault. A group of us stayed and all felt the same. I’ll definitely be back!

    The property is badly outdated. There’s no useful elevator and you are left with toting bags on your own… up several levels of steps. It’s a good location and the staff isn’t rude, it’s just a terribly outdated place and the rooms do not look like the photos . The tub and shower are beyond outdated , so we actually showered at the Watzmann terme. Breakfast was served in a bright room with a very nice view. Not a lot of options for children.
