Amazing and very welcoming host!

1. Incredible location close to the beach, to the kids playground and the zoo! Quiet street just off the main road, which was lovely. There is a big supermarket nearby.
2. The yard! The house is next to some tropical garden, so you have almost no neighbors, just you and the nature.
3. The house had loads of things for the kids: crib, kid's chair, baby bath, sand toys, kids tableware and even a car booster.
4. Very spacious. In addition to 3 bedrooms there is a big living room, a dining room and a big kitchen
5. Floor length windows that open in each room into the garden, with mosquito nests on all windows!
6. Despite the house having old furniture everywhere, the bathroom was recently renovated and was top notch.
7. There were plenty of toiletries for us to use, which was very convenient.
8. Overall great value for money.
Our main concern was that the house was dirty when we came - clumps of dust on the floor, some spiderwebs on the ceiling, rat faeces in the kitchen drawers and soiled pieces of furniture - the chair pillows, the curtains, the bathmat were all not in a good state, which adds a certain level of squeamishness to the general feeling of an old house. The bathrooms were clean though, so thank god we didn't have to clean at least that on after a long day of travelling.
We also got an unpleasant scolding from the owner for using the hot water heater all the time throughout our stay. The owner says she told us on the first day about the solar panels that warm up the water, I say she didn't, because when we came in it was raining for 3 days (no sun = not hot water), so we obviously had to switch it on. We had no idea we had to switch it off all the time (in my home the water gets warmed up as you use it, so it always stays switched on). There are written instructions in the house on switching off the Aircon and reusing towels, but nothing about switching off the water heater, so...
Do bare in mind the early check out policy in this house, which is 8:00 -10:00. The owner kindly messaged us the day before that we can stay till 11, though we were sure it was till 12, like everywhere else.
Overall, I'd would probably chose to stay here again, because I know I can just clean it and enjoy the positives, though not sure the lady of the house would let us stay again after this review (albeit it being an honest one) 😅
