Food was amazingly good and plenty of it.
Staff were welcoming and professional.
Rooms were spacious, well furnished and very clean.
Bar, dining area and lounge area were welcoming and beautifully furnished.
It would have been nice to know about the refurbishment going on in reception, just out of courtesy.
Some of our bathrooms needed refreshing and upgrading a little, e.g. flooring was showing water damage & there was some peeling of paint from the walls in one bathroom.

Adequate. Slightly tired and in need of a refurbishment. Just my opinion.
First interaction with staff, immediately after "hi", was to be told my room won't be ready until 3pm. Personally, I'd have welcomed a guest with a smile, "thanks for joining us", maybe you'd like to make use of the spa, as opposed to a negative welcome.
