Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig am oberen Ende von Litochoro gleich an den Wanderwegen. Vom Balkon hat man einen tollen Blick auf die Bucht von Thessaloniki und auf die Berge. Zum Stadtzentrum mit den Geschäften und Restaurants ist es nur ein kurzer Weg. Gastgeber George und seine Familie sind ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit und man fühlt sich in der Wohnung sofort wie zu Hause. Die Wohnung hat eine sehr gute Heizung, was zu Ostern sehr wichtig sein kann. Die Ausstattung war sehr gut und die Zimmer schön geräumig und gut gestaltet.

Litochoro is so charming and George was a fantastic host! He was very detailed in communicating with us and the building is completely updated and immaculate. There is a shared entryway, but each apartment is private and spacious. There is a maze of narrow, older streets to navigate that are essentially alleyways between the historic buildings. But this made it even more of an adventure that really added to the experience. We chose it because it was close to some Olympus trails where we wanted to do some hiking, but we ended up falling in love with the village itself. It is perched in the foothills that rise quickly from the Aegean sea, and you can look out at the mountains, sea and most of the village from the bedroom porch! Beautiful in the daytime and magical at night. We had a chance to meet a few locals and they are such wonderful and warm-hearted people. In the evening there were families in the town center, kids playing football (soccer) and older folks enjoying food and conversation al fresco in front of the restaurants. There are a couple monasteries nearby, including Saint Dionysus which was a jewel that was open for exploration and only had a few visitors while we were there. We will definitely make it a point to get back there one day.
My car's navigation could've been better, LOL. Watch the turns on your map and follow them-- they are accurate. Ignore the verbal 'left-right' instructions if it's anything like mine ;-) If it brings you to a tiny intersection and says you've arrived, the building is just up the higher road on the right.
