We were in appartment "Heuduft" and that was an extremely comfortable and spacious appartment with two big bedrooms. Ronald has thought of everything: from bed linnen to (tea) towels and from toilet rolls to hand and dishwashing soap. There even is a washing machine! Besides an old-fashioned drip coffee machine, there is a modern Tchibo espresso machine. Be aware: you have to buy special Tchibo pods for different versions of coffee, else the machine doesnt function or will break down. So check which coffee you prefer and buy the right pods (local Edeka shop has them) but then you've got a wonderful espresso, lungo or capuchino to start the day on your balcony :-)
The location is amazing: you just cross the road and walk into the Black Forrest with many circular walks in the area and also a couple of long-distance trails at your doorstep. I will definitely be back with my hiking boots!
The town of Gengenbach is a quaint local town with lots of historic Schwarzwald buildings.
We will definitely be back.
I can't think of anything negative.. the rooster from some reviews has not shown itself to us and we didn't hear it but that may be because we were there in winter..? The weather was grey and foggy, but even so, we had a wonderful time. Only thing missing (because we came in winter) was a fire place inside :-)

de grootte van het appartement was prima, ruime kamers, veel ruimte. Hygiene dik in orde. Ligging van het huis in de vallei is prima, rustige straat, met kabbelend beekje
kookplaat: KAPOT (slechts 1 vuurtje tegelijk mogelijk). De host was op de hoogte zei hij, maar er werd niets aan gedaan
oven: KAPOT, werkte totaal niet
broodrooster: KAPOT
tuin (en dus ook bbq): ontoegankelijk wegens terroriserende HAAN, die je aanvalt. Je hebt een stok nodig om je te verdedigen. Naar de vuilbakken gaan was je leven riskeren. Ook hier was host op de hoogte (verschillende mensen hebben hem er op aangesproken alleen al in de week dat we daar waren) en ook hier werd geen actie ondernomen. Dat de haan daar vrij rondloopt en gasten aanvalt is NIET OK
lawaai van de haan: dit beest kraait tot 6 keer per minuut, van 's morgens tot 's avonds. Dat is NIET OK bij een gastenverblijf.
niet rokers: er werd boven en onder ons gerookt, dus de sigarettenstank kwam toch binnen
talen (er wordt aangeduid dat er een zestal talen wordt gesproken). Realiteit is dat alle communicatie, uitleg en beschrijvingen enkel in het Duits zijn.
