It would have been great if it was informed that local shops are closed on Sunday, so that we would have been preapred.

I start by saying I have never stayed in a hostel before and I am 72 - first time for everything! Therefore I have difficulty comparing. I enjoyed my stay, such a beautiful setting.
Nothing - wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Better than I expected to be honest. Youth hostel type place (strip the beds, pay extra for a towel) and of course shared bathrooms. Once you got in the bathroom the facilities were excellent with a very good shower ( better than many hotels). Dinner - pizza - is on offer as is continental bfast. Otherwise take your own food (there is a kitchen) as there are no alternatives ( apart from a pub that only serves residents). The single room was very nice. A decent size and no frills but for one night, just the job. Well done.
This was the cheapest stay on the NC500 by a long way and in some ways (eg the shower) was much better than places I paid much more for.
