About this house rental
The deck of this 2 bedroom/2 bath property looks out over Robb Field with open space and athletic fields. Behind this is the San Diego River with a bike path that connects to bike routes that travel throughout San Diego County. Ocean Beach has been described as the place where the sun sets on San Diego, and the sunsets are phenomenal. It is centrally located in coastal San Diego with easy access via both Interstate 5 and 8.
Our home is located on the North edge of Ocean Beach, a small beach community of San Diego. It is one of the most relaxed places in all of Southern California. It is one cool and hip place. OB, as it is known, is very laid back, receiving the 2015 Certificate of Excellence award from TripAdvisor. It is a self contained community with excellent restaurants, markets, shops, bars, and craft beer. It is home to the longest concrete pier on the west coast, where fishing is legal without a license. Currently, due to storm damage the pier is closed. There is a smaller pier on Shelter Island… if you want to fish without a license.
Voltaire Street is two blocks from our home and home to several convenience stores, bars and restaurants. Newport avenue, the main street business area, is a short walk. You can stroll along the beach to get there.
There is a bike path that goes along the San Diego River and Mission Bay. It possible to ride to downtown San Diego. If you are feeling adventurous, you can circumnavigate San Diego Bay on the Big Bay Bike Route or ride to Oceanside along the Coast Highway.
The kitchen has many handy appliances, including a Cuisinart, blender, and crockpot.
The deck has a glider and hot tub. You can view Sea World fireworks from the hot tub. Please note that children under 6 are not allowed in the spa.
There is also a large shared area that includes a coin operated laundry room. There you can meet my friendly long-term tenants from the other three units. This area is fenced with a gate that opens to the park & bike path so you never have to take your dog along the street as you go to the beach together.

This is our second stay at Chris’s place. It is a great value for a 2 bedroom with private hot tub in Ocean Beach which has a unique old time hippie beach vibe which we enjoy even as retirees. We had daily walks to the dog beach, weather permitting, to let our pup enjoy his best life while we took in sunsets over the ocean.

Perfect location in OB if you are a beach lover and dog owner! The house was perfect and had plenty of amenities. The house is cozy and has everything you need. There is a great kitchen if you love to cook. A full library of great books, music and movies - something for everyone! You are a short walk to the bike path that leads to the dog beach - which is awesome!! Best dog in beach in Cali. There is one parking space which is important in that area - but you don't have to drive to get to anything. You are near great coffee shops, restaurants and everything you need. Super nice owner, property manager and neighbors - We loved it and can't wait to go back!
