La Jolla Shores is a mile long pristine beach and the neighborhood is much quieter, easier to park, and more relaxing than La Jolla Village. However, La Jolla Village and La Jolla Cove are still a five minute car ride, fifteen minute bike ride (for adults), or twenty minute walk. While La Jolla Shores has such famous restaurants as Piatti's, Osteria Romantica, and the five-star Marine Room, the shopping, restaurants, bars, and art galleries are still very accessible from this location.
From La Jolla Shores, depending on the season, you can relax on the beach in the sun, kayak the La Jolla Sea Caves, snorkel with the famous (and completely harmless) leopard sharks, kayak with gray whales, surf gentle waves, boogie board around the beautiful coast. The location was amazing! Hands down a 5! However, very disappointed in the rental. The place seemed very run-down- mold on shower curtain and in shower, ceiling fans filthy, carpet dirty, balcony run down, pillows yellow, smell and dirty for the bed, 1 of the 4 beach chairs were usable! Very upsetting to see the condition from a top VRBO host.
