the location is very good, close to the ski lifts. the kettle and coffee and tea in room were appreciated. some of the staff were helpful or friendly.
we hoped we were going to a cozy and friendly mountain chalet - but the chalet is not actually a chalet - it’s a dingy building with very thin walls, small cramped rooms and fraying rugs. we could hear the TV or music from neighboring rooms constantly. the hotel which is connected to the chalet was overly focused on its restaurant, la table de mon grand pere. if you tried to sit at the bar for a tea or glass if wine after a snowy day, you had to fight for space with restaurant clients. forget being able to dine in the restaurant spontaneously. the staff ran around trying to service the restaurant and guests of the chalet and hotel could feel like they were just in the way. my last afternoon there a barman came to my table and insisted I order something to drink and pay for it, in order to have the right to stay seated at the table. after 7 nights at 300 euros, I just got up and left the bar!
