Great location, easy walking to Menin Gate & restaurants Fabulous breakfast! 2 couples travelling together. Both rooms nicely appointed & very comfortable. Karen is a wonderful host, welcomed us (a little early, much appreciated!) and shared tips & info about the area/restaurants/things we wanted to do.

Nothing, it was great!

Breakfast was excellent. Super range of food including cereals, a wide variety of meats and cheeses, lovely fresh bread and pastries and delicious, ripe fruit! Only improvement needed is to the coffee which wasn’t hot enough!!!!

The coffee!!!

We were in the top floor suite with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a lounge. It was nice and the breakfast was very good. Karen the host was excellent, very friendly and welcoming , knowledgeable and pleasant. There were towels in the rooms and shower gel. Tea, coffee, biscuits and cream with a kettle and cups in the room. I would have preferred milk as cream does not go with tea really it is fine with coffee. There is a ground floor room which is ideal for those with less mobility the apartment we were in was on the 2 nd floor with steep stairs which were ok for us, but just a warning for those leaks mobile to request a ground floor room. It was 10 minute walk to the cathedral and Main Street and another 5 - 10 mins to the Menin Gate itself. We witnessed The Last Post at the Menin Gate at 8pm, it was very moving. We visited Tyne Cot cemetery and a couple of other cemeteries. Passendale Museum and Flanders Museum are well with a visit.

The main bedroom did not have heating although there were plug in heaters in other rooms which was fine whilst we were there in May but in the winter I would imagine it could be cold

the host was very knowledgeable and very helpful. the breakfast was excellent.

the only thing the towels had a weird smell
