Perfect location

Jacuzzi not working which was disappointing.

Value for money. Situation. Staff and excellent breakfast!

Pillows were like bricks and I couldn't open the ground floor windows. No air con so I'd imagine this room (44) would be unbearably hot in the summer

I stayed here to attend a day school at the open university campus which is a short stroll away via Kent hill park. It was exactly what I wanted, a clean bedroom, with a comfortable bed and well equipped clean bathroom, half board so either side of my study day i didn't have to worry about looking for food. There was a good choice at both meals, English breakfast, continental breakfast, cereals, fruits tea coffee juices. For the evening meal again melon/ fruits or soup, a choice of three main courses, vegetables etc and deserts or fruit. Absolutely excellent value and the loveliest staff. I have a disability and the staff were so helpful with my difficulties with a tray and a walking stick for example. After eating there is a tray return area., and the staff are around regularly cleaning surfaces, replacing chairs and checking everyone is ok. The building is accessible with the main areas on the level or sloped ground floor and a lift to the bar. I didn't use the bar as I was tired. I didn't use the pool, gym and spa facilities either but they were free to use. The beds were clean and comfortable and as I walked through the lapwing wing of the building in the morning, the smell of fresh laundry was lovely. This is a comfortable clean relaxed home from home, and an ideal working environment. Whilst stayed there was a function in the main dining room, a gala dinner. The room looked beautiful and other guests had their evening meal in a smaller dining room in the nightingale wing. I did not hear the function from my room even though it was relatively close. I did hear one or two people return to their rooms but they were respectful and kept the noise to a minimum. This is designed as a working space, has decent free WiFi, meeting rooms etc, it is not just a hotel. It does an excellent job and any students, staff for the university, along with any groups needing a meeting or function space - i would recommend it.

This was what I had expected it would be, there was nothing I disliked. You need to bear in mind this is primarily a conference space not a luxury hotel but honestly the standard is very good and I had a very pleasant stay.
