Résidence Château du Mée

Pretty good location for Vaux le Vicomte, & Fontainbleu, set in a walled mature park. Pleasant, quiet, spacious grounds. Rooms standard motel size. Swimming pool was warm. There is a restaurant on site which is convenient as you would have to drive a way to find one. We hadn’t realised there was a pretty well appointed kitchenette so you could organise your own breakfast/ snacks.

The whole set up including the pool is pleasant but feels ‘tired’. There is only one access gate though the sat nav shows 2 others (locked). Instructions about late entry would have been appreciated! Gates are locked in the late evening and you need to use the intercom to contact reception. Staff on reception could be more communicative. Had to ask reception about wifi in our block- generally glitchy. It is over the river from Melun, which makes it a quiet setting but also a little more awkward to get to.

Located in lovely green grounds with plenty of parking. Simple but comfortable rooms at a very kind price.

The Sunday reception crew was awful. No hello, no welcome, looked at us why we were there... The Monday crew were, however, the complete opposite. Also on Sunday both restaurants are closed which we didn't expect. Where to eat? That was a good challenge!

ALL GOOD

Single beds made for children and not adults .. fell near out of bed few times during the night as too narrow to sleep.. probably 70 cm in width .. looked like beds out of a scout camp or army. Very disappointed.. bath extremely high and dangerous to step in and out without anything to hold on too .. had to move to bedroom for people with reduced mobility..
