Nestled on a quiet street in McMinnville's historic downtown district, the Cowls Bungalow & Carriage House is just a block and a half to McMinnville's famous Third Street. Walk to dozens of wine tasting rooms, to discover award-winning Oregon wines, chef-driven restaurants, artisan boutiques, galleries, and seasonal festivals - all in the heart of Oregon Wine Country.

Guests have private access to the entire home, carriage house, and back-side-yard that connects to the carriage house. The house has a basement, but no one occupies it, and it is not available for guest use. Self-check-in is easy, and clear instructions will be given the morning of your arrival.

Step into our beautifully restored 1910 Craftsman Bungalow & Carriage House - an inviting blend of timeless character and modern comfort. Original details of warm wood trim, charming built-ins, and restored hardwood floors give the home its soul, while thoughtful updates throughout make the space feel fresh, clean, and relaxing. The open layout flows effortlessly from the cozy living room with a fireplace into the bright dining area and modern kitchen.

The kitchen is both stylish and functional, featuring a concrete countertop peninsula that doubles as a casual gathering spot—perfect for morning coffee and meal prep. The dining room is anchored by a beautiful, oversized wood table that’s ideal for lingering dinners, spreading out board games, or doubling as a comfortable workspace for remote work.

The home offers excellent privacy for couples, families, or friends traveling together. The private primary suite offers a king bed and a beautifully designed compact ensuite bath. In a unique historic touch, original French doors from the home were converted into a sliding barn-style door, paired with a fully tiled bath and updated fixtures. At the opposite end of the home, a spacious 2nd bedroom features a queen bed, with an adjacent full bathroom that also serves as the home's main bathroom. Just off to the kitchen is the laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer, which adds extra convenience for longer stays.

Outdoor living is where this property truly shines. Enjoy the classic covered front porch with comfortable lounge chairs—perfect for sipping coffee and watching the neighborhood stroll by. Out back, open the historic roller door, and the carriage house transforms into a covered open-air entertaining space that flows directly into the fully fenced yard. With ceiling string lights, a rustic wood slab table on wine barrels, bistro chairs, and the BBQ placed right at the entrance, it’s the perfect spot to gather with your pups, enjoy umbrella shade during the day, or the heat lamp, and twinkle lights in the evening.

Morning Coffee: Enjoy locally roasted whole bean coffee from Table Top Roasters in Yamhill. In the kitchen, there will be a drip coffee maker, coffee grinder, creamer, and sugar.

Fully Stocked Kitchen: Open the cabinets and drawers, and you'll find everything you need to whip up a quick meal or cook and bake your favorite holiday meals. The kitchen is also supplied with a spice rack, olive oil, vinegar, BBQ utensils, a meat thermometer, hot-pads, kitchen towels, and extra paper towels.

1910 Carriage House & Connected Outdoor Space: The historic 1910 Carriage House has been beautifully restored into a covered outdoor gathering and dining space, with a charming original 1910 roller that opens the entire side of the Carriage House to the fully fenced outdoor space. The BBQ sits right at the doorway for easy indoor/outdoor entertaining, connecting to outdoor seating, a sun umbrella, lounge chairs, outdoor heating, and twinkle lights.

Fireplace: There is a cozy electric fireplace in the living room.

Dog Friendly: We welcome your dog, and there is plenty of room for them to roam in the fully fenced outdoor space. (See our dog policy, but if your situation is a little different, don't hesitate to ask management to see if we can accommodate).

Connectivity: High-speed Wi-Fi suitable for streaming and remote work.

SmartTV: Connect to your favorite app channels, and there are 100's of live TV shows, news, movies, and music.

Dining Table & Workspace: The dining room table is very large and provides a lot of space. We have known guests to travel here and do a remote work "staycation" - they had plenty of room spread out and set up shop during the day. This table is also great for entertaining and playing games.

Although we did use the kitchen other than for morning coffee and tea, the house was clean, comfortable and the proximity to downtown McMinnville was a bonus.

Location was amazing. Close to everything downtown. House was well kept and very quiet. Nice that toiletries were available. Free grown coffee was an extra touch. Will look for availability at this location the next time we come to town.
