Nous avons passé deux semaines dans l’appartement « duplex » de la magnifique villa Cindro, demeure historique de la ville de Podstrana. L’appartement est situé au deuxième étage, sans ascenseur. Il est muni d’une mezzanine comprenant deux lits 1 place et d’un petit coin salon. En bas de l’escalier en colimaçon se trouvent une salle de bain avec WC, une pièce à vivre et une grande chambre. L’appartement dispose d’une climatisation sur la mezzanine ainsi que d’une autre dans la pièce à vivre, ce qui permet de climatiser la chambre en conservant la porte ouverte. Très complet, le mobilier de l’appartement correspond parfaitement au caractère historique de la demeure.
En dépit de la route qui passe derrière la maison les nuits sont calmes.
Outre la vue sur le port de plaisance et la mer, nous avons beaucoup profité du magnifique jardin à la française où nous pouvions prendre nos repas à l’ombre des palmiers.
A cinq minutes à pied sur la gauche en sortant de la Villa se trouve une jolie petite plage familiale. De petits galets sur la plage mais un fond sablonneux et en pente douce dans l’eau transparente.
Autre avantage : l’arrêt de bus pour Split est juste derrière la maison. Le trajet pour le centre-ville historique n’est que d’une vingtaine de minutes. Il est possible de prendre soit la ligne régulière, numéro 60 du bus public « Promet » qui est sensé passer toutes les demi-heures ou le mini-bus privé « damaltinac » qui passe toutes les 20 minutes mais deux fois « plus cher » à 2,50 euros le trajet aller par personne, retour possible jusqu’à 23h30. Il est possible d’acheter les billets auprès du conducteur en liquide. Car, se garer à Split, et de manière générale en Dalmatie, n’est pas très aisé et revient vite assez cher. Le parking offert par la villa, très accessible, est donc un véritable luxe.
Même à Split, toujours prévoir des espèces. Il y a des distributeurs « ATM » partout, qui prélèvent une commission.
Nos hôtes ont été très accueillants et réactifs.

Me, my mum and dad had an absolutely wonderful holiday in your glorious villa. The beds were so comfortable especially with the air conditioning right above us. The home from home with all the amenities made this week so memorable. The location of the property was excellent. Literally a five minute walk from the beach, which was so clean, was so perfect especially for mum, who has two replacement knees. On the beach, there was a handful of restaurants that sold delicious food that was great value for money.
Half an hour away from the property by an extremely cheap Uber, was Split port, where you can take a number of boat trips to nearby islands, including the beautiful island of Hvar, which is well worth a visit. We also took a coach trip to the awesome Krka waterfalls, which is also a must see.
All in all Split is definitely a destination I would visit again.
