The location was beautiful and the house itself felt like a very luxurious and special getaway. The lighting is gorgeous. Very close to Clifden which was great for easy access to great food and groceries. They supplied oats and coffee at house, be sure to get some milk and any fruit or nuts to go with the dry oats and coffee and tea at the grocery.
I thought being charged to use the sauna was off putting but I can see why they do it to get people to respect their booking and be mindful of the energy it uses and to be serious if they are going to use it- but it being necessary to book and the limited hours would do the same thing. There was wood for a fire but no matches or lighter anywhere we could find to actually get it going.

Atmospheric location, remote, near a stream and surrounded by a small temperate rainforest.
For the prices charged, too much like camping and too much inconvenience. No staff at all, you check yourself in. Was fine for us but if someone needed help with bags or anything else, no one to help. You had to walk about 50 yards on a gravel road from the parking lot. No food on site, had to bring everything in for breakfast. But not like a full apartment either, not easy to use a small kitchen setup. A moth and a fly was buzzing around inside. No windows so eye covers are provided to sleep. When it got cold, I used their wood burning stove. It was nice, but then would get too hot in there. Extra charges to use the only amenity, a sauna, seemed petty. No fitness center, lounge, etc. For the right person, they could really enjoy this stay. For us, it was not worth the high cost. It did have positives, but not one that would describe as a luxury experience.
