Room was upgraded, front house staff brought in a little treat for bday/valentines day and were extremely helpful and really welcoming. Flowers were put in a vase, pyjamas were put in the room whilst we were out. Breakfast was also good, really great stay and would definitely stay again

    - 4 minutes walking distance to Marble Arch - Safe, quiet location despite in a busy area - Good security at the front door of hotel - Loads of bus stops and tube station really close by once you reach Marble Arch - Room is not exactly big but spacious enough to move around comfortably. - Requested walk-in shower and good it doesn't leak. - Yet shower is not strong enough and the drainage design is bad cos it is right in the middle of the cubicle, meaning it is 99% likely you will be stepping right over it a) it is blocking the drainage b) it is not hygienic to be stepping on dirty water that fails to drain off effectively. - shower head also not the best version and if they claim to have a recent refurbishment then it is really bad because you cannot blame it on ' old set-up' from ' years back '. There are so many modern efficient effective gadgets to choose from in the modern interior designs, so the lame shower heads , drainage and water pressure are all inexcusable excuses for a less than soothing shower at the end of a long day. - room is clean though, and fresh bottled water is always there with a choice of still or fizzy. - water kettle with assorted tea bags available. - coffee machine with assorted coffee capsules freshly provided. - housekeeping is very good according to general UK standard. - windows that can open for fresh air - Japanese bath robes of nice cotton make a good alternative to the usual terry robes - ironing board+iron, brolly, toiletries , slippers etc are all provided. - safety box and hangers and laundry bag all provided - Malin + Goetz beauty products ( handwash, body wash, body lotion etc ) used - check in and check out was no fuss and late check-out was had when we were told to call that same morning if at all possible, and yes, we got it. - Japanese restaurant however needs much brushing up as there are definitely much nicer Japanese eateries that offer more delicious dishes. A let down in this area as the hotel boasts its Japanese authenticity in every way, but foodwise it isn't. - this is the 2nd time we return to the hotel within a span of 3 weeks albeit the 1st stay was met with hiccups here and there. It is really the overall cleanliness of the entire premises, the lovely location that gets you shopping in oxford Street, Bond Street, Picadilly etc in no time, the discreetness of housekeeping and the good amenities that tell us this is a good hotel to stay and recommend to friends when they visit London.
