Hotel Duret Paris Champs Elysées

The room (type Chambre Superieure) was comfortable and exactly what we wanted. Ours had a small/narrow balcony (on the second floor for the rooms 201, 202, 203, 204 etc.?) I think we actually noticed there are no balconies on other floors. There is only 1 Chambre Superieure on each floor. WLAN secured with a password is available. Daily we received 1 small bottle of mineral water/person free of charge. The room temperature was quite ok. The hotel location is very good.

The bathroom has an electric radiator. If it was turned off before, it takes min. 20 minutes to heat up = extremely slowly. Upon arrival we fumbled for 3 hours testing all configuration settings for 5 mins each time, and finally gave up. You'd better check with the reception desk, they ordered an electrician next morning, who solved the issue. Some noise in the street in the morning at some 6 or 7 a.m. due to garbage collection - you must live with it. We did not make use of the breakfast option at Hotel Duret. On New Year's Eve (starting some 4 p.m.) be aware that a good number of subway stations (on metro 1, but not only) are off access. Numerous streets are blocked near Arc de Triomphe/Etoile and Champs-Elysees. You have to largely circumvent the area - due to security measures. It was tiring, because a lot of people in the area (Champs-Elysees, Etoile etc.) had to circumvent the area too, which meant small transverse streets became suddenly very crowded. Of course, Hotel Duret has no fault in this situation, on the other hand at 11:45 p.m. we could walk only a short distance (stone's throw) to Boul. Grande Armee (pedestrian area by then), to watch the New Year fireworks.

Such a lovely snd cosy facility with helpful staff.
