Pedra da Laguna Boutique Hotel SPA

We had a lovely stay at Pedra da Laguna which is a beautiful pousada. All staff were simply amazing and so attentive to our questions and requests.

The grounds and pool at this hotel are beautiful from the moment you walk in. The staff was also very kind and helpful during our stay and we really appreciated it. Unfortunately, the ground floor rooms are incredibly dark -- darkest hotel room either of us have ever stayed in -- due to them being located in a sunken courtyard that backs onto a wall. We asked if we could switch rooms or if they had other options but even after being told earlier that they were only at 50% occupancy, they declined our request which we found frustrating and disappointing considering the price. The room itself was nice and the bed was comfortable. However, the bathroom was dated and needed updating and we found the breakfast we had at the other places we stayed during our two weeks in Brazil better than the options here. While the grounds are very nice and picturesque, many of the cabanas by the pool and their furnishings were either dirty or stained to some degree. The walk to the beach is about 7 minutes but if you are looking for good food options, you are better off staying closer to town because you will only find drinks and very overpriced food on the beach close to Pedra da Laguna. Though the food that we ordered for lunch off of the menu here was really nice and we were impressed with it, it did take longer than we thought to come out to us. Ultimately, this hotel is indisputably beautiful to look at and is easy on the eyes when you take pictures of it, if you scratch a bit below the surface you will find that there is room for improvement that is holding it back from being an incredible stay for good value.
