Formerly a coach house, this charming stone built holiday cottage will enchant visitors with its lovely location just above the mere in the picturesque village of Monyash, which has a popular pub/restaurant, daytime cafe and superb children's playground. The cottage is ideally located for hiking and cycling starting right from its front door.
This well-appointed cottage is equally suitable for a quiet retreat or a family holiday, with short breaks also available. The cottage sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms, a twin and a double. The cosy sitting room offers free sat TV and DVD facilities,whilst the well equipped kitchen /diner provides a comfortable cooking and eating area. Wi-Fi is available. Outside the cottage benefits from off road parking, use of a large lawned garden with patio and barbecue. There is secure storage for bicycles etc. .
The cottage is centrally heated.
The Coach House is located close to the Limestone Way walking trail and in the centre of the White Peak area. The beautiful town of Bakewell, famous for its puddings and pies, is 4.5 miles away where, in quaint lanes, there are superb restaurants and pubs, interesting, independent shops, a golf course and a superb Monday market. The popular historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are just the other side of Bakewell.
Walkers have a huge choice of Derbyshire Dales and moorlands to choose from and cyclists have many trails, including the Tissington trail which passes just outside the village and where bicycles may be hired.

We had a fantastic stay at the coach house. Ruth is a brilliant house, greeted us on arrival, great communication up front and a friendly welcome. We were very much left after that to enjoy the property and garden in private, but the hosts were on hand if we had needed them.The property was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen.Monyash is a great location for exploring the peaks, we hired bikes at parsley hay and rode the high peak trail, and did a walk from the door down Lathkill dale which was stunning. Bakewell was near enough for us to grab a Chinese takeaway after a day of cycling and no energy left to cook. We highly recommend this property if you are looking for a base in the area, great for walkers and cyclists. We hope to return.

Lovely place to stay with original features but cosy and comfortable. Ruth was helpful and welcoming and made sure we'd be comfortable (eg by having the heat set how we wanted it). The cottage was a haven to return to each day. Lovely garden to sit in when the weather's nice, and just across the road from the village pond. Peaceful and cosy and we felt well looked after throughout our stay.

Excellent location close to so many famous places and historic houses. Beautiful friendly village and owners. Pub excellent with amazing meals and friendly pub staff.Would recommend to anyone who likes outdoor spaces and cottage life.
