Hôtel la Baie Valdys Resort & SPA

very comfortable modern and clean. nice location

Difficult to locate when arriving by car, Rather corporate, not very cosy. Too much concrete and marble. Although right on the beach, the beach was hard to get to. swimming pool didn’t open before breakfast.

The hotel was very smart with a lovely reception area and friendly staff. The room was huge with the bed looking over the sea. Our room had a long picture window, with the door open at night you could hear the waves lapping on to the beach which was very restful. The room was clean, modern and tasteful.

The bathroom was huge but the waterfall shower was unusable sadly. The shower wasn’t fully enclosed so nothing to keep the water in so the bathroom flooded. We resorted to using the little hand held shower head, which was a shame. For such a smart hotel, we expected better bars and restaurants in the area, but most seemed a bit run down. There is no bar at the restaurant so we asked about a taxi in to the town centre. We were quoted 30 euros each way which is extortionate for a 3km journey.

WiFi did not work on my phone. Could not use pool due to insane rule about swimming trunks. Lack of English language TV

A great spa

Service was very varied. Maria was excellent (thank you), but unfortunately, others were actually quite rude. (We don't appreciate being completely ignored at reception while a receptionist plays with paper clips, for example). Very poor meal in the restaurant, over cooked and dry sole meunière , and again, fairly rude service Bedroom was odd. The toilet is separate from the bathroom with no facility to wash your hands.
