Albergo Roma

The location was central to the main square, near coffee shops and shopping. I can't speak highly enough about the staff and the cleanliness of the property. We found the bed quite comfortable. Off street parking was appreciated. The shower was nice and full of hot water and pressure, quite relaxing. The staff was wonderful, simply wonderful. The breakfast was good. I liked that the room numbering was xxx.1. I assume the .1 meant the floor so floors above ours would be xxx.2, xxx.3 and so on. This gave me something to think about...

The interior hallway lighting was quite dim and made reading the room identification a chore. The number of outlets in the room was one that was accessible. There might have been more but I don't move furnishings around looking for outlets. The pillows were poor, similar to a folded blanket. We asked for extra and the staff happily obliged. The shower... the placement of the control was such that you always bump into it when doing your shower stuff thus changing the temperature or shutting the flow off. Early check in ( 2 hours) was denied. Not really a dislike but something to be aware of if you'll be checking out on a Monday. Monday is market day and the off street garage and streets in the city center is blocked so you can't egress the hotel until the market is finished early afternoon. Check out time is listed as 1030. Staff made sure we were aware of this and provided an off site location for parking. No big deal but something to consider when packing bags and how far you want or don't want to drag them.

We had a really nice stay at Albergo Roma. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable, which made it easy to relax even for one night. A special mention to the lady at reception, who was very sweet and welcoming! It really made a difference to the overall experience. Breakfast was also good, with a nice selection to start the day even though quite basic. Overall, a very pleasant stay and we would happily return.

The only small downside was that parking can be a bit tight, especially when passing through the main entrance, but manageable with a bit of care.

My room was clean, actually roomy (which is often not the case in Italy) and very quite (courtyard window). Secure motorcycle parking with no additional cost. Great location, too, most of Tolmezzo’s restaurants are within a 10 minute walk. Excellent value for money, at least in April (winter and summer rates may be different).

The furnishings aren’t exactly luxurious. Breakfast buffet could do with more variety and quality of savory items like deli meats, cheese and eggs.
