The location is perfect - very close to the center, quiet on a small road, close to the thermal baths and Bus and Train Station
I had a very nice room, great the view and a nice balcony like room.
Perfect also the heating with pipes to dry the towels and swimsuit after the thermal baths.
Luggage must be carried over the stairs, normally not really a problem, but you should not have any problem with your limbs or back.

Location is perfect!! This is the upper side of town, close to a large Spar Euro store for groceries if required, Ski lift, restaurants & bars. The opposite side of town is down a massive hill which requires ABIT of walking or a shuttle bus to Ski lift. The B&B has a storage shed for Ski gear then it's a 5 minute walk to the ski station. Highly recommend walking over in your trainers then using a locker for 2 euro each day to hold your trainers whilst you ski, you can spend another 2 euro to keep your ski boots locked up over night and just carry your ski's back to the B&B so handy instead of walking around in ski boots! Breakfast was simple/basic. No hot food other than cooked eggs, a hot pancake would have been nice or some sausages but other than that we stocked up on yogurt/breads/cheeses/spreads tea/coffee, didn't like the processed meat slices.
Our bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, although next time I book ski accommodation I will be looking for a bath. Our roomed tidied every day and the staff were friendly. I do think it's ABIT over priced but sure that's the cost of Ski accommodation right?! It's very close to the Thermalspa which I highly recommend doing, fully naked and an invigorating experience, I recommend going at night time if you feel a little shy.
A great first time skiing and the B&B met our needs, we would stay again.

Location is convenient when travelling by public transit: sportgastein, cables, bad hofgastein, all easy to reach and stores on foot. The Gastein area is beautiful for hikers and a week was easily spend.
Appartment is big enough and has a great view. Door is always open and early check-in was no problem.
Mattrasses and bedframe need an update ( holes, lose bottom, cat hair). Not for fashion but for safety and comfort..
Harder to grasp, but the eery feeling between overly welcome greetings and some problematizing "rules" was a bit tricky to navigate for me/us. I imagine there are demanding guests (and that must be cumbersome) but i dont think we were and the few requests we made, made us feel we were problematic. Everyone communicates differently, but we would like to add, especially after reading some similar reviews: It is ok to evaluate or leave the hospitality business when you are done with it, or repurpose the Gasthaus and reinvent yourself. Nobody blames you, go for it!
