The hotel is located by the lake, with beautiful views and surroundings. It is ideal if you have business in the Suzhou Industrial Park. A big shopping mall is within walking distance, while downtown is about 15–20 minutes away by taxi. The hotel is well equipped, the breakfast is excellent, and the friendly staff speak English.

We like the location of this hotel and the view, once we had the proper lake view we had booked, was spectacular
1. We had booked a Premium Lake View room. Although the lake was visible from the room, most of the view was of the roof of the lobby area
2. We were upgraded to a proper lake view room, apparently recently redecorated, but the lights did not work properly and could only be full on or full off such that e.g. there was no independent light switch for the bathroom.
3. The sliding door of the bathroom was heavy to close/open and the exit door did not close automatically and was on one occasion left open by housekeeping
4. We complained to the hotel staff on departure and were offered a bottle of red wine by way of apology, which took the edge of our dissatisfaction and the upgrade cost was not excessive but I feel that such a room should not be sold in such a 5 star hotel
5. It was very cold in the main bar area and lobby but this is inevitable because of the design and it is not often subzero in Suzhou!
