The location was absolutely amazing—right on the beach, private and tranquil. Breakfast and staff were fantastic, and the whole place felt very relaxing.
The only downside was the loud neighbors next door who talked late at night on their balcony, and we had to wait for them to finish before we could fall asleep. Otherwise, a wonderful stay overall.

The location is perfect, if you look for quiet beach front small hotel with amazing view. It has a direct access to the sea, which is just in front of the rooms, but a kay there is practically no beach and the shore is rocky. However to enter the water is easy, as the stones are round and not hurting + the property build a small pier, with few stairs. The water is super clear and amazing fir swimming. 20 meters aside there is a sandy organized beach, which is also very affordable - 8 eur for 2 sun-beds and umbrella.
The property is very small - just 8 rooms and has very nice gardens and beautiful common terrace area with look over the bay.
It has as well a restaurant, which serves super nice breakfast with the lazy 1100 o’clock ending The restaurant offers very nice a la cart menu for lunch and dinner as well.
Staff were very friendly and professional.
We stayed in a suite with sea view. It has very comfortable bed, a spacious bathroom and nice small balcony. However the plan of the room is open space between the bathroom and the bedroom, which is not very comfy if the one wants to sleep longer. Also some of the facilities need to be maintained - probably because it is the end of the season.

The location is perfect; right in front of the sea. Alongside the rocky beach with a dock, there is also a sandy beach right next to the hotel. The sunbed-aera is very nice and the beds themselves are comfortable. Marathi Beach is simply amazing; one of the best on the island, with crystal-clear water that is always calm and never wavy regardless of the wind.
We stayed in one of the newly built rooms, and all facilities were excellent. Comfortable beds, spacious showers, and everything was spotlessly clean.
The restaurant is another highlight; breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all delicious. Hats off to the chefs. It feels like the hotel has a perfect triangle: rooms at the back, beach in the front, and the restaurant on the side. The gentleman who managed the restaurant in the evenings was always calm and smiling, which made the experience even better.
We loved our stay and would definitely come back.
- Heavy noise early in the morning (around 7–8 AM) right next to the rooms. First it was a leaf blower; then a large tank truck making noise. We acknowledge it is necessary, but it could be either less loud or scheduled a bit later since it is so close to the rooms.
- While we understand the need for regulations and house rules at the beach and around the hotel to maintain order, the approach could have been more relaxed; it is a summer destination, and strict restrictions with a firm negative attitude can take away from the overall positive, carefree vibe.
- The internet in and around the room was very unstable. When it worked, the speed was pretty good; however, for the value of the stay, we expected a stable connection. For the last 1.5 days, it did not work at all.

Friendly staff, nice view
We can‘t really fall in line with the other reviews. We had the junior suite with ocean view, which was more or less a double room on the larger side with a small sofa at the entrance („the living room“). We were met with an incredible stench of cleaning products which didn‘t air out completely over the course of 4 days - it was only met with a chlorine/sulfur stench coming from the drain in the toilet floor. Sheets weren‘t changed during turndown service. There is no mirror other than the one over the bathroom sink. Walls are very thin, you can here your neighbors phone vibrate on their night stand.
The ocean view is nice, but the beach area is simply well-photographed on the website: two rows of beach chairs are located on two grassy steps (1-2m in height), you have to walk down stairs, cross a road, walk down more stairs to reach a rocky beach which you can enter via a concrete landing.
Breakfast consists of what they called „cretan specialties“ - you are served a platter to share. The „specialties“ do not taste all that that fresh (besides the small portion of greek yoghurt). The eggs were cooked dead (crumbled dry yolk). You are offered 1 drink, all others are extra (orange juice eg costs 4 €). You may not take food from the restaurant to the room, drinks are allowed.
Be aware that there are a plethora of stray cats in the dining area.
