About this house rental
Sweet Creek is nestled between the quaint towns of Monte Rio and Occidental and is walking distance to Monte Rio Redwoods Regional Park and Open Space Preserve. The Preserve has several miles of trails winding through redwood and Douglas fir forests, the 515-acre park is a destination for hiking, mountain biking and picnicking.
We are also just about one mile from Monte Rio Beach.
Our house sits on a level 1/3 acre lot which is fully fenced for the safety of your pets and children. There are baby gates to close off the deck from the stairs going down to the yard.
Sweet Creek sleeps 6 , with 3 bedrooms and a futon in the living room.
There is a bedroom with a King size bed , skylight and private deck. A second bedroom with a Sleep Number Queen size bed and a smart flat screen TV. The Creek Side bedroom has a skylight, Queen bed with sliding glass door that opens onto the creek side deck.
The kitchen has granite counters & gas stove / oven. It is fully equiped including coffee maker, toaster, blender, slow cooker, eletric gritle, microwave, a full complement of pots and pans, silverware and dishes. There's a large pass through to the dining room over looking the seasonal creek.
The Living room has a flat screen TV, DVD player and a large wood electric fireplace heater. There's an air conditioner unit in the window.
We offer X-finity high speed internet and a work station
There is a large wrap around creekside deck with a table, stools and BBQ for your outside enjoyment. Also gas fire ring, picnic table, hammock and lounge chairs.
When the creek is running you can see a variety of ducks as well as other wild life in the area. This fantastic location keeps you in the heart of 'wine county' close to redwoods, the ocean and of course the Russian River.
Please note our standard rate is for 4 adults.
There is a $25 fee per additional person for each night.

Check in was simple and the kitchen had all the amenities of home, directions for using items within the home and check out procedures were so helpful. It was so peaceful in the evening and the lack of light pollution allowed for viewing of the stars.

Home away from home. Everything we needed was there. The owners gave us great ideas of places to go and things to see. Will definitely return.

What a gem! As others have said, the pictures really don't properly convey how much thought and labor have gone into the decor, layout, and small touches of this property.
We are so thrilled to have brought the first cat to Sweet Creek. Our big 'ol Maine Coone loved exploring inside and out.
And the gifts and card from Lorrie and Cookie were so sweet! We felt very spoiled for our anniversary- thank you!
Some general notes for others:
- there is a bit of road noise when outside, but the lovely sound of the creek helps a lot.
- There are 4 stairs from the ground to the porch/door. Be aware for bringing stuff inside or those with mobility issues.
- The "AC" is a window unit in the living room. It works really well in conjunction with the fans, but just adjust your expectations a bit.
- The yard is fully fenced but if your animal is "small" or "medium," you'll want to keep them on a leash and supervised because the driveway gate is horizontal slat with large gaps. Also, they will want to explore under the raised porch, and you may have trouble getting them back out without a leash.
- If you are a daytime napper, bring a sleep mask because the skylights allow for a lot of natural light. Great to see stars and the moon in bed at night, though!
- Mattresses are firm. If you need a soft one, use the Sleep Number queen in the red room.
- Sonoma Ziplines is 5 minutes away- SO AWESOME!
We have been VRBO-ing for nearly a decade now and your home is definitely in our top five; Number 1 if we want to bring the cat again. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
