Beautifully appointed Chateau dating back to the 14th Century and still owned by the same family. The rooms are full of character but with all the modern facilities. Ideal location, situated just outside the village of Nuits Saint Georges but also convenient for motorway access so great for a few days exploring but also just as a stopover. Breakfast was fresh and with top quality ingredients and good coffee. Don't be fooled by the 3 star rating Chateau de la Berchere punches well above it's weight.

Lovely exterior, great chateau feeling outside. Great location and access to wineries with a car. Great on-site free parking. Only one staff member on-site part-time who was friendly and helpful. Nice view from the room
This was an off-season stay and it felt like it. The common areas were only available when the receptionist was there, so they were mostly closed. Room was small, rustic and basic but needed a thorough cleaning. Dust-bunnies everywhere. I'm glad I tried it, but I wouldn't return

The storytelling facade of the château, the sunny weather, the history of the building
We arrived late and did not notice that the room was not the one (deluxe double room with shower) that we have paid for on Booking.com. The room 16 at the bottom was much different than the pictures of the double room, there is no double bed at the entry and another small cave room following the corridor has another small double bed but the room is full of spiders. Also opposite the room on the inner side there is a door that opens up to an empty dusty corridor, a bit scary to see at night. The room is changed without telling us.
In beginning of the April, the pool is closed.
