Rome as you feel - Grotta Pinta apartments

This is our 2nd time staying at GPinta. Location excellent & apartment well equipped. Apartment is well equipped. Preferred apartment we had on our 1st stay as was bigger. Apt 2 bit small. Would stay again if can get the bigger apartment .

. Time to update mattress & pillows as not not comfortable . Shower rose needs attention as doesn’t stay up. Otherwise all good.

The apartment is in an excellent location in the very centre on Rome but on a picturesque, quiet street. It was really easy to get access to the apartment with the instructions provided by Matteo (the host). He was also very kind to provide a very comfy cot for our baby, that was very much appreciated. The apartment is provided with everything we needed for a short stay, including shower gel, shampoo, soap and even washing machine (essential when you have a baby!) and dishwasher tablets - really nice touch, thank you Matteo! The apartment has got great floor-to-ceiling height which makes it feel really bright despite having only one big window (and a small one in the bathroom). The window provides views to the lovely street and has got black-out shutters, which were amazing for us (we don't have them at home and we slept so well because of this). The beds and pillows (with different types provided) are very comfy. Hot water comes out instantly and the shower was great. There is a lift that provides access from the first floor, which is really handy (especially if you need to get a pushchair, suitcases or bags upstairs). We left the pushchair downstairs (by the entrance) during most of our stay, which makes it a lot easier when popping in and out during the day.

You can hear everything that happens within the building (people going up and down the stairs, the lift, the creaking of the floor upstairs). It didn't bother us and definitely didn't bother our baby who was able to sleep absolutely fine, but if you are a light sleeper keep this in mind! The price seems a bit high for what it is (don't expect high quality interior design or any luxury) but that seems to be the case for all accommodation in Rome!

The property was in a great location. For the most part, everything was fine with the apartment. It was nicely decorated and had a washing machine, but no dryer. The walls and trim could you a paint refresh.

The mattress was horribly hard. It felt like sleeping on plywood. We never got to meet or speak with the host. Picked up keys at a luggage storage facility adjacent to the apartment. Not enough bath towels provided for our stay.

Bathroom cubicle was small
