This was a cheery and well-outfitted room in a very convenient location of Matera. The host provided a good tour of the facility and information about the region.
There were aspects of the description that didn't measure up with the reality. The soundproofing was no match for sounds of construction or neighbors in heels on bare floors. The elevator didn't reach the floor the room was on, leaving a flight of stairs to navigate. And the kitchen where the listing described an oven and range, had no cooking utensils to use there, except for one tea kettle.
