Very very basic 3-star hotel, not even water in the rooms - having to go gallivanting the streets of Rio close to midnight after travelling for 24 hours and being given a bum steer by staff, only to find a shop across the road that sells water, didn’t exactly make an ideal welcome to the city.
The traffic can be heard, I was awoken to a couple banging - literally *banging* into my headboard - at 4am on the 2nd night; no kettle, no bins (except for toilet paper), no water.
On the plus side, there’s a desk and barfridge; it’s *right* across the road from the beach; and I did feel very safe there, so were my possessions.
